What ministries does Carisma run?

Children and teenagers are looked after on a Sunday rather than in a midweek ministry: there is a kids programme running alongside the service, and a place for teenagers.

How do I join one?

Turn up. There is no application process and no membership requirement to attend anything, and you do not have to come on a Sunday first. If you would rather ask before you walk in, send us a message and say which one you are interested in.

Serving on a team is a different conversation from attending, and worth saying out loud: teams working with children go through a screening process. That is deliberate and it is not a comment on you.

Can I help if I am not a member?

For most things, yes. Anything involving children or young people has a screening process first, which exists to protect them and is not a comment on you. Everything else is mostly a matter of turning up and being useful.

What season is the church in?

Carisma is being rebuilt. Not the building, which is fine: the church itself, relationally, through the people in it. That is worth saying plainly because it changes what you should expect. Some things run every week without fail, some are being restarted, and some are waiting for the right people. If a ministry matters to you, ask what is really happening with it rather than assuming from a website.

It also means there is room. A church in a rebuilding season is the easiest kind to matter in, because nothing is closed off and nobody has been doing it for twenty years.

I play an instrument or run sound. Is there a place for me?

Almost certainly. The worship team covers musicians, singers and the technical side, and a church this size always needs someone who can run a desk. Tell us what you play and we will put you in touch with the right person.
