# Ministries at Carisma Carisma Church runs three ministries: Sons of Scripture for men every other Saturday, Thursday Night Light Bible study for men, women and children on Thursdays, and street outreach in Hamilton on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. They meet at 1239 Main St E and all are open to anyone who turns up, whether or not you attend on a Sunday. The calendar lists what is meeting this month. ## What ministries does Carisma run? ### Sons of Scripture Who Men When Every other Saturday, 7:00 PM A men's ministry meeting here every other Saturday night. Prayer, Scripture and brotherhood, with no assumed knowledge and nothing to prepare. [About Thursday Night Light](https://www.carismachurch.ca/thursday-night-light) ### Street outreach Who Anyone who wants to serve When Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 7:00 PM Two nights a week on Hamilton's streets with partner ministries, taking out food, clothing and company. Turn up and come along. [About street outreach](https://www.carismachurch.ca/community) Children and teenagers are looked after on a Sunday rather than in a midweek ministry: there is a [kids programme](https://www.carismachurch.ca/kids) running alongside the service, and a [place for teenagers](https://www.carismachurch.ca/youth). ## How do I join one? Turn up. There is no application process and no membership requirement to attend anything, and you do not have to come on a Sunday first. Serving on a team is a different conversation from attending, and worth saying out loud: teams working with children go through a screening process. That is deliberate and it is not a comment on you. ## Can I help if I am not a member? For most things, yes. Anything involving children or young people has a screening process first, which exists to protect them and is not a comment on you. Everything else is mostly a matter of turning up and being useful. ## What season is the church in? Carisma is being rebuilt. Not the building, which is fine: the church itself, relationally, through the people in it. That is worth saying plainly because it changes what you should expect. Some things run every week without fail, some are being restarted, and some are waiting for the right people. If a ministry matters to you, ask what is really happening with it rather than assuming from a website. It also means there is room. A church in a rebuilding season is the easiest kind to matter in, because nothing is closed off and nobody has been doing it for twenty years. ## I play an instrument or run sound. Is there a place for me? Almost certainly. The worship team covers musicians, singers and the technical side, and a church this size always needs someone who can run a desk.
